WHat advice do you have for a working mom that is leaving her career to be a stay at home mom?

Stock up!!! Buy as much non-perishable food that you eat a lot of and freezer foods that are on sale BEFORE you go off. It saves a lot of running around and it's nice to have it on hand. Try to hit all the sales before and after you're done work.

Buy ahead, if you can. Say your kids will definetly need new shoes in the fall and they're on sale in the spring, buy the shoes they like, a size bigger! Same with clothes and other things your kids need. Buy stuff off season. Snowsuits are always on sale in the summer and in the spring and stuff like that. I bought one worth $80 the other day for $20 (Osh Kosh too!).

If you do resign, make it for a month AFTER the date you really want to. Take that last month of salary and put it in the bank for emergencies.

Schedual all of your appointments and running around for the same day so that you only have to go out that one day a week to save on gas and maybe see if Grandma wants to watch the kids that day so you can do it hassle free.WHat advice do you have for a working mom that is leaving her career to be a stay at home mom?
The thing that caused the biggest problem for me was money. I was used to earning money and being able to make decisions about how to spend it. When I got pregnant and quit, my husband felt like we were now living on 'his' money and I should get his permission before I bought anything. I assume you are staying home because both of you think that's best for the child. That's certainly why I stayed home when my son was little, but I didn't realize beforehand that my husband felt my being a stay at home mom demoted me to child status also, with 'daddy' checking to see if I was wasting my allowance. He also stopped helping with the housework or even cleaning up after himself, since he figured taking care of a child left me tons of time with nothing to do and as the only worker he 'deserved' to be taken care of.WHat advice do you have for a working mom that is leaving her career to be a stay at home mom?
Keep growing at home. Don't be one of those Mom's that watch TV and have your life revolve around coupons LOL

Read, do projects around the house and keep growing.
my mother did that as well! just enjoy your free time and have fun!
