Oh my god, I vacationed in London in March, and it was like vegetarian paradise. It seems like the UK is much more vegetarian-friendly than the US--almost everything we bought while there had a little (V) symbol on it and said ';suitable for vegetarians';. Even things like Doritos say if they're suitable for vegetarians or not. There's also a ton of Indian food there, and they always have lots of vegetarian choices. Another good vegetarian choice is Thai food. And lots of shops have cheese sandwiches. Every restaurant we went to (except one, I think) had little (V) marks denoting vegetarian options on the menu. Also, the supermarket/department store Marks %26amp; Spencer (dunno if you've been there) has tons of nice fresh fruits and veggies and even pre-prepared vegetarian meals (in Scotland we found vegetarian haggis there!). Being long-time vegetarians, my fiance and I were considering moving to the UK after our trip there, since it's so easy to find things to eat! :) Good luck!Moved to London, need some advice on how to be a healthy vegetarian here.?
It's very easy to be a vegetarian in London! Especially compared to the U.S Midwest.
Many people have said it is not too hard to be vegetarian there because they have food markings and it is not an uncommon thing. I believe the percentage of vegetarian in UK may be higher than in US. I suppose in part due to mad cow and whatnot.
If there's anywhere in the world it's easy to be vegetarian or vegan, it's London! Enjoy!
I believe Indian food is the #1 cusine in London!
Start learning how to cook curry!
Easy.
There are plenty of veggie restaurants in London.
And plenty of open air markets to get produce, I highly recommend Borough Market
Can you be healthy and a vegetarian at the same time? I don't think so. You need protein to keep your muscle mass up. You need calcium to keep your bones strong. And why would you move from the US unless your job demanded it?
