Im buying a bike and im a new rider. I wanted some advice on which bike would be a better choice.?

I like the way the yamaha R1 looks but i hear the honda cbr is a well rounded bike. Im torn between the too. Has suzuki gotten any better since the 04 models, and what about the hayabusa? Thats alot I know just curious.Im buying a bike and im a new rider. I wanted some advice on which bike would be a better choice.?
Dude you need to hang out with some people who actually ride, and ask them. What you have asked here is like somebody learning to ski jump, and before they do their first jump, all they want to know it what type of skis should I use ?

Don't worry about the equipment, worry about learning to ride.

These bikes are each specialized tools, developed with experienced, highly skilled riders in mind. I don't know how to explain this to you - each time you are at a stop light, each time you are on a freeway on ramp, you have an instant roller coaster. These bikes will pull so hard it will scare the shyt out of you in any gear at any speed - 10-30 mph, or 130-150mph, the accelleration will still terrify you. Sit on the bikes in the show room. The reason the riding position is like that is unless you sit like that, when you actually ride the bike as it was meant to be ridden, you cannot stay sitting on the bike unless you are in that hunched, clinging on for dear life position. Like I say, a rollercoaster, but one with no safety equipment beyond your judgement, skill and experience.

So, like any other skill, you have to go through a probation period where you don't look cool and you can't ride fast. Its that or the hospital or the morgue. After all, before you can ski jump, you have to be able to ski, and more than that ski very, very well, don't you ?Im buying a bike and im a new rider. the R1 is ALOT of bike to begin with, its a 1000cc. I would look at maybe about a 750cc or something like that to get the feeling for it. the GSXR is an awesome bike. I have an 06 1000cc and its scary fast but handles great. The Hyabusa is one of the most overrated bikes out there. It is a stright line bike and is SUPER heavy and can sometimes be a pain to park in tight squeezes because it is kind of awkward.

The biggest mistake new riders make is riding a big bike to start and getting comfortable with it.. then try to get balls and then end up having a stainless rod where your femur used to be.
Yeah, screw it all. Get the Hayabusa and ride like Roethlisberger. No helmet, no permit, no license, on a bike that he had no business on in the first place, playing Zip 'n Splat and blaming other people for his mistakes.

That seems to be the only way to get squidlings to stop asking which literbike they should get for their first time: let them all kill themselves. If you all don't want to do the smallest bit of research before asking lame questions, then just go whatever big bike you want and suffer the consequences of your choices.
go to some dealers near you. try sitting on those bikes and get the feel of it. looks are important but comfort is also another thing. if you have time read some reviews about the bikes. also before you really buy the bike, try to take the safety class. do you really want a new bike? everybody i spoke with told me to get a used bike and practice on it but i ended up getting a new one. just prepare yourself for the worst! that you might drop it one day!
You are asking for BIG problem

You need to respect the dangers of riding. Getting a powerful bike for the first bike and you are asking for it. Also remember that as first bike it will get dropped a lot maybe even few accidents (some major). So why do that to a nice expensive bike.

Get a small 250cc class bike and take a long term view.

Good Luck...
Would you go out and buy an F-15 to learn how to fly? New riders and high power bikes don't mix. Get a used piece of junk to learn to ride. You'll probably lay it down a few times and it will be a lot cheaper if you change your mind.

Bikes aren't cars. Any idiot can drive a car, and most do. Bikes take skill and experience to survive.
get the hayabusa!! you'll look as cool as a bug that just hit the windshield of a car that was doing 100mph the only difference is you're going to be on the road not the windshield.
Go with something a little smaller than a busa

You might end up a road smear

The CBR 600's are a good bike start there and get a busa after riding a couple of seasons

Cheers
new rider?

get busa!

best bike to begin with!!!

EDIT1 : zx 14 is a great choice also!
Buy a smaller cheap bike as the chance that you will lay it down is pretty high as a new rider.
Dave, u might wanna do some research on a bike that is 1,000 cc. You'd be buying your ticket to the grave
go big get the zx 14, its supposed to be the fastest production bike. thats what you need if you have never road before.
